Tom Curran is not going to be showing all the tricks in IPL

The stage is set for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. The franchises are players have started working on their strategies. But the players are thinking of the upcoming T20 World Cup as well. On the same line, Tom Curran said that he would not show all his tricks during the league.

Tom Curran to keep surprise tricks for World T20

Tom Curran, the England all-rounder was bought by Rajasthan Royals for his base price of Rs. One crore. While he will be busy in the league, he will be one important member of the England team in the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia in October this year. So, Curran does not want to show all his tricks during the link. He is keen to keep some surprises for the opponents in the ICC tournament.

The intention is to not show all his weapons to the opponents from the international stage while playing with them in the same team for the IPL 2020. In a chat with ESPNCricinfo he said, “If I’m bowling in the nets to some of the Indian guys, I’m not going to be showing them all the tricks.”

Curran although believes that IPL gives him a great opportunity to work with some of the world-class players and learn a lot. “But that’s a huge benefit of having Jos, Stokesy and these guys. I think you actually learn a lot too. Speaking to Jos I’ll learn about batting. You just need to have some of the players on the international stage to talk to, and try things with.”

For Curran, IPL is a great platform to work on individual performance and skill. The 24-year-old believes that in the league the focus will be on self-improvement. “I don’t think you chat weaknesses with loads of people anyway. There’s a few people who you might trust, and you might ask, ‘what does Steve Smith do in this situation?’ but it’s more about developing and getting better, which we players focus more on.”
