On Sunday, August 11, Toronto Nationals claimed the GT20 trophy. Their victorious journey started with a favorable toss and continued with a strong performance that limited Montreal to 96/9 in 20 overs.

Toronto Nationals secured their first GT20 Canada title with a commanding 8-wicket win over Montreal Tigers. Skipper Colin Munro won the toss and chose to field, a decision that proved effective as Montreal Tigers collapsed to 96/9 in their 20 overs.

Jason Behrendorff excelled with 3/8, dismissing key players early and setting the stage for Toronto’s victory. Despite challenging conditions and a rain delay, Andries Gous delivered a match-winning 58 not out, overcoming a broken finger to lead Toronto across the finish line. 

The chase was completed with Rassie van der Dussen’s unbeaten 30. Romario Shepherd was named Bowler of the Tournament, while George Munsey and Dilpreet Bajwa also earned individual rewards.
