“Totally Thrilled”, R Ashwin Heaps Praise On Sai Sudarshan After Being Selected In The Series Against South Africa

The Indian Cricket Board announced the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series and Test match series against South Africa today. Team India is all set to depart on December 6 for a month-long series which will commence on December 10. Along with announcing the squad, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will skip the T20I series against South Africa but Virat Kohli is likely to return for the Test Series to be held in late December against the same team. 

In another development, it has been confirmed that Rohit Sharma will mark his availability for the T20 World Cup to be held next year in the US and West Indies. Being there in the team, Rohit will likely lead the team in the 20-over World Cup. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya sustained an ankle injury and he is certainly taking longer than expected to recover. 

Ashwin heaps appreciation on Sudarshan

After getting to know about sensational youngster Sai Sudarshan’s selection in the squad for the ODI series against South Africa, Indian off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin lauded Sai for his brilliancy and constant hard work through his career. Ashwin took to his official Twitter handle and remarked ““Wow Sai sudarshan wow! Genuinely happy for a kid who has been chasing excellence and not left any stone unturned.Totally thrilled . Well done.”

Adding youngsters this time

The management has added several youngsters on team India’s side this time. As senior players have been put to rest in the series against South Africa following a hectic World Cup schedule, opportunities have been given to young and emerging talents instead, with one of them being Sai Sudarshan.
