Travis Head Joins Elite Club, Becomes the Second Australian to Hit Five Consecutive Fifties in T20s

The USA cricket enthusiasts are enjoying another thrilling edition of the Major League cricket. After enjoying the thrilling T20 World Cup, they are witnessing some more exciting T20 cricket. As the ongoing season ends a few times, Washington Freedom player Travis Head grabbed the limelight with his excellence. He shined throughout the season. Head scored five consecutive half-centuries. With this exciting form, he has become the second Australian player to score five consecutive half-centuries in T20s. 

Another Milestone for Head:

In Australian cricket, Travis Head is a gem. His aggressive batting is his biggest strength. Besides international cricket, he also rocked the MLC 2024 stage. He scored five consecutive half-centuries and became the only second Australian to touch the extraordinary milestone. 

He scored his first half-century of this milestone against LA Knight Riders. While chasing a low total in that match, Head played a knock of 54 runs in 32 balls. He continued his form in the next match against MI New York by playing a knock of 54 runs. Against Texas Super Kings, he also scored his third half-century.

In their last group stage match against San Francisco Unicorns, he scored his fourth half-century and played a knock of 56 runs. He continued his legacy in the qualifier match against San Francisco Unicorns. While opening the innings, he played a crucial knock of unbeaten 77 runs. Depending on this knock, they registered a 7-wicket win.

Washington Freedom Qualified for the Finals:

Throughout the ongoing season of the MLC 2024, Washington Freedom played dominating cricket. After having an excellent group stage competition, they met San Francisco Unicorns in the qualifier match. After winning the match, Washington Freedom opted to bowl first. 

While bowling in the first innings, the Freedom bowlers showcased their dominating side. Marco Jansen secured three crucial wickets after conceding 46 runs. Rachin Ravindra was excellent. He conceded only 11 runs and secured 4 wickets. Saurabh Netravalkar secured 2 wickets after conceding 23 runs. 

After dominating them in the first innings, they continued it in the second innings also. While opening the innings along with Travis Head, Steve Smith was dismissed scoring only 1 run. They lost three wickets quickly. But Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell snatched the game.

Head played an unbeaten knock of 77 runs in 44 balls. Maxwell remained unbeaten on 54 runs in 23 balls. They achieved the target only in the 16th over and won the match by 7 wickets. With that dominating win, they qualified for the final match.
