RCB’s Heartbreaking Defeat:
After a victory against Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator. While batting first, RCB faced setbacks as Captain Faf du Plessis fell for 17 runs. Virat Kohli and Cameron Green steadied the innings, but Kohli departed after scoring 33 runs. Rajat Patidar contributed, but both he and Green were dismissed after scoring 34 and 27 runs respectively. Mahipal Lomror added 32 runs, while Dinesh Karthik scored 11. Despite efforts, RCB only managed to reach 172/8 in 20 overs.
RCB bowlers faced challenges during the second innings. Lockie Ferguson dismissed Cadmore for 20 runs, followed by Karn Sharma removing Sanju Samson for 17. Cameron Green crucially dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal. Mohammed Siraj later displayed excellence, taking the crucial wickets of Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer, although it was too late. Siraj claimed 2 wickets for 33 runs, while Ferguson, Sharma, and Green secured one wicket each. Despite RCB’s late efforts, they suffered a heartbreaking 4-wicket defeat. Rajasthan Royals’ strong start was led by impactful innings from players like Jaiswal, Parag, and Powell, securing them the victory. With that defeat, RCB ended their IPL 2024 journey in this stage.

The CSK vs RCB rivalry intensified after RCB’s decisive victory over CSK in their last group-stage match. Tensions escalated as the banter extended from the field to social media. CSK bowler Tushar Deshpande added fuel to the fire by sharing a meme on Instagram, poking fun at RCB’s inability to clinch the IPL trophy.
After RCB’s defeat, Tusharpande added some stories on social media. He shared a meme made by CSK fans and wrote, “CSK fans are built different.” In another story writing, “ Karma Never Loses An Address.” Afterward, he deleted those stories but it already grabbed the attention.
