UAE batsman Mohammad Usman has announced his retirement from international cricket. Over the course of six years, the Lahore-born middle-order hitter represented the UAE in 85 international games which comprise of 38 ODIs and 47 T20Is.
The middle order batsman has scored 1008 runs overall, in 38 ODIs. His ODI records show 1 century and 4 half centuries. The player has also scored 891 runs in T20 Internationals, with 3 fifties to his name.

Speaking about his retirement from cricket, the 38-year-old expressed his gratitude and hoped to continue being part of cricket post-retirement.
“It has been an incredible journey with the UAE cricket team and the cricket board,” Usman was quoted via a press release. “I would like to thank everyone who played a role in my journey including my team-mates, coaches and other support staff. I feel blessed and proud that I got the opportunity of representing UAE for 85 international matches.” Usman said.
“I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life as I want to remain associated with the sport. I want to wish the UAE team and the players the very best in what is a very exciting time for the game in the country.” He added.
Usman was born in Pakistan:
Usman, hailing from Lahore, has had a noteworthy cricket career marked by his participation in five first-class matches and 58 List-A games. Despite being a Pakistani by birth, Usman joined the UAE cricket team. Over the course of his List-A career, he amassed a total of 1517 runs, boasting a respectable average of 34.47.
His performance included the achievement of nine half-centuries and a century, underscoring his capability and consistency as a batsman. Usman’s most recent appearances in international cricket were in February 2022, when he played a One Day International (ODI) against Oman and a Twenty20 International (T20I) against Nepal, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to representing his team on various platforms.
