The Indian Street Premier League:
The Indian Street Premier League has set out to revolutionize street cricket in India, offering a robust platform for emerging talents. What makes this league unique is its inclusivity – there are no age restrictions, allowing anyone to join this grand tournament. Registration remains open until January 14, 2024, with 96 players chosen from a pool of 350 hopefuls. The inaugural edition of this T10 tennis ball extravaganza is set to kick off on March 6.
Format and Schedule:
The eagerly awaited tournament, slated from March 2 to March 9, 2024, promises intense competition as six teams vie for victory in 19 thrilling matches. The vibrant city of Mumbai will be the backdrop for these exciting encounters, creating a perfect setting for cricket enthusiasts to enjoy the action-packed battles ahead.
During the round-robin phase, each of the six teams will play against every other team once, leading to a total of five matches for each team. Following this stage, the top four teams will progress to the playoffs, which will follow a format similar to that of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the playoffs, the top two teams will compete in a qualifier match, while the third and fourth-placed teams will face off in a virtual quarter-final. The winner of the first qualifier will secure a direct spot in the final, while the loser of the qualifier and the winner of the virtual quarter-final will contest for the other spot in the championship match.
Franchises and Owners:
The ISPL debuts its inaugural T10 tennis ball cricket tournament, featuring six teams, each representing major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar. The competition for the ISPL 2024 title will be among teams: Bangalore Strikers, Chennai Singhams, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, Majhi Mumbai, Srinagar Ke Veer, and Tiigers of Kolkata.
Renowned Bollywood personalities have joined the ISPL franchise, adding star power to the cricketing venture. Amitabh Bachchan has secured ownership of the Mumbai team, while Akshay Kumar and Ram Charan have taken charge of Sri Nagar and Hyderabad, respectively.
Meanwhile, Suriya Sivakumar has aligned with Chennai, and Hrithik Roshan is at the helm of the Bengaluru team. The star-studded ownership continues with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan revealed as proud owners of the Kolkata team, rounding off the glittering array of Bollywood’s involvement in the inaugural ISPL.

The inaugural ISPL T10 promises substantial rewards for the winners. The champion of the 1st season will be awarded a prize money of INR 1 Crore, making it a lucrative victory. Meanwhile, the runner-up won’t leave empty-handed, receiving a substantial prize money of INR 50 Lakh.
