Virat Kohli Hits 20 Million Likes Milestone on Instagram, Second Asian to Achieve the Milestone

After having an exciting season in the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Co. achieved their long-time goal. In the final match, Virat Kohli’s exciting innings of 76 runs was a huge boost to the team. But he touched another milestone. His Instagram post after the T20 World Cup win has crossed 20 million likes and became the second Indian to achieve this milestone.

After an 11-year wait, Team India finally lifted an ICC trophy. Following their T20 World Cup victory on June 29, Virat Kohli took to Instagram to celebrate. He shared heartfelt messages and posted several photos just hours after the win. The pictures showed him and his teammates joyfully celebrating with the trophy. Additionally, he shared moments from the locker room after the game, capturing the excitement and happiness of the team.

After sharing those pictures, Virat wrote a heartwarming caption. He wrote, “Couldn’t have dreamt of a better day than this. God is great and I bow my head in gratitude. We finally did it.” This post by the GOAT put social media on the storm. This has reached 20 million likes. He has become the second Asian to achieve that feat.  Before that, Kim Taehyung’s Instagram post crossed 20 Million likes a few years ago and he was the first Asian to touch the milestone. 

The Historic Win and Kohli’s Goodbye to T20s:

In the final against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados, Virat Kohli’s innings of 76 runs off 59 balls rescued the Indian cricket team from a shaky start. His performance was crucial in securing India’s second T20 World Cup title. With this win, India claimed their second T20 World Cup trophy. Kohli, receiving the Player of the Match Award, also announced his retirement from the game, marking a memorable moment in his career and for Indian cricket.

While talking about this, Virat said, “This is my last T20 game playing for India, my last World Cup I was going to play,” the 37-year-old Kohli said after the final. “I wanted to make the most of it. And this was our aim. We wanted to win an ICC tournament, we wanted to lift the cup.”
