Royal Challengers Bangalore have failed to win another IPL trophy, yet one thing they have never lost is the support and love of the RCB fans.
In the Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals, RCB had fought hard and yet, missing some important catches and failing to score enough runs had worked against the Bangalore based team.
“next saal cup namde” say RCB fans again
The Royal Challengers Bangalore is the single franchise which has a massive and loyal fandom despite never winning any IPL season.
In the 17 seasons of the T20 Tournament, RCB has failed to lose 17 trophies, despite coming close to it a few times.
The team starts every season with their hopeful chants of “Ee Sala Cup Namde” which roughly translates to “we’ll lift the trophy this year”. Every year, the fans have to pacify themselves as the team fails to win another time.
In a joking manner, RCB fans on social media have started saying “next sala Cup namde” to get some giggles while they nurse another loss of their favorite team.
This year, the fans were quite hopeful, specially considering the miraculous comeback RCB made, by winning 6 matches in a row after they were at the bottom of the points table for the longest time.
Virat Kohli acknowledges fans and thanks them
In his Instagram post after the RCB vs RR match, the RCB’s ex-captain Virat Kohli showed his appreciation for the fans of his team.
The post was probably also Kohli’s last post about the IPL 2024 season, as now his team is out of the tournament. In a photo posted by Virat Kohli, the caption thanked the fans for their love and support. The team is known to have loyal fans.
“Thank you once again to all the fans of RCB for making us feel loved and appreciated as always” the caption said.
