Vivian Richards Lauds Virat Kohli For His Exceptional Performance Throughout The World Cup! 

With the ongoing World Cup tournament, some cricketers have really shown up exceptionally well in the matches they have played. Among them, India’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli has been consistent throughout the games he played, playing knocks that led India to win several matches. He also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to register his 49th ODI century in the match against South Africa having slammed 101 runs off 121 deliveries.

Several former cricketers heaped praise on Virat Kohli after this extraordinary knock that came from him, not only against South Africa but other teams as well. Among those cricketers, West Indies’ veteran and iconic cricketer Vivian Richards also lauded Kohli for his brilliancy in the tournament. 

While praising Kohli for why he is at the top, he remarked “There have been a whole host of talented individuals on show but to top them all, you cannot look past Virat Kohli. I am a huge fan of Virat, I have been here for a long time, and he continues to show why he has to go down as one of the all-time greats, right up there with the likes of the great Sachin.” Vivian also heaped praise on Indian management for trusting Kohli with the performance and backing him at such a crucial time.

The legendary batsman scored his highest against Bangladesh at 103 not out off 97 deliveries. His second best was 101 against South Africa followed by 88 runs against Sri Lanka. In the 2023 World Cup, Kohli has slammed a total of 543 runs so far and leads at the second position among the leading run getters. Team India will carry forward its World Cup campaign against Netherlands with its next match on November 12 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
