In a stunning display of fast bowling, Indian pacer Akash Deep left Bangladesh reeling on Day 2 of the first Test in Chennai. Just before the lunch break, he struck twice in consecutive deliveries, turning the tide of the match and putting Bangladesh in a precarious position. After starting their innings at 22/1, they quickly found themselves at 22/3, with Akash on the verge of a hat-trick.
The morning session began with Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah making an immediate impact by dismissing opener Shadman Islam for just two runs. However, it was Akash Deep’s remarkable spell that truly rattled the Bangladeshi side. His first delivery uprooted Zakir Hasan’s middle stump with a brilliant ball that angled in sharply. Following this, he delivered another exceptional delivery that clean bowled Mominul Haque, leaving him without a run and putting Akash on a hat-trick ball.
