Ahead of their first game on the 1st of April against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings have released their new anthem which has made the fans groove.
Punjab’s New Anthem: Jhoom Punjabi
Pubjab’s new anthem titled Jhoom Punjabi is curated not just for the franchise’s fans, but for the entire Punjabi community. The anthem, which is a peppy and upbeat track, features Mika Singh’s vocals along with a blend of traditional Punjabi musical instruments and modern beats. It highlights the team’s spirit, passion, and determination to win the IPL trophy this year.
The song features the franchise’s captain Shikhar Dhawan, and other players humming to the vocals of Mika Singh. As rap is pretty popular in the Punjabi Music Industry, the new anthem features a rap paying tribute to Waheguru, and also claiming that Punjab Kings’ batters are ready to face any bowling attack this season.
The video features fans grooving to the dancing beats of the anthem. The video also gives an insight into the team’s camp with little footage from the team’s hotel, practice sessions, and other little events.
Not just an anthem
The anthem is not just an insight into the franchise, but also into the Punjabi culture. It features Punjab’s traditional dance forms, the Bhangra and the Giddha. Furthermore, it includes the local sports that are played in Punjab including the tractor-tire race, Kabaddi, and others.
The anthem also pays tribute to the hard-working farmers of Punjab and acknowledges their contribution to the nation. Lastly, it sends a message to the opposition teams that Punjab are heavily equipped this season and will not back down at any cost.
