Ashish Nehra, the former Indian cricketer known for his fiery pace and unique bowling action, celebrates his 45th birthday today. Nehra retired from all forms of cricket nearly seven years ago but remains a familiar name in the IPL circuit. Ahead of the 2022 IPL season, he took on the role of head coach for the Gujarat Titans.

Nehra was also part of the Indian team that competed in the 2003 ICC ODI World Cup in South Africa, where he recorded his best-ever ODI bowling figures of 6 wickets for 23 runs against England.

Nehra’s former teammate Yuvraj Singh wished the fast bowler in a very unique way. He made a edit of a popular song Gangnam style with Ashish Nehra dancing on it. In the post, he mentioned that the moves and moods of Nehra are timeless. Yuvi also wished him luck to take Gujarat Titans to the second title.

After retiring from playing, Nehra transitioned to coaching and served as the bowling coach for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2018. He later joined the Gujarat Titans as their head coach for the 2022 IPL season. Under his leadership, the team, led by Hardik Pandya, showed great determination and won the IPL title, defeating the Rajasthan Royals in the final.
