India played against South Africa in the finals for the tournament in a thrilling match that had fans at the edge of their seats. Recently, India skipper and the T20 World Cup 2024 winning captain Rohit Sharma revealed how the team defeated Proteas in the final.
“I don’t look too far ahead. It’s very important for me to stay in the moment and focus on the job at hand. It was very important for all of us to stay calm and try to execute our plans.” Rohit said.
“When we were under immense pressure when South Africa needed 30 runs off 30 balls, the five overs that we bowled showed how calm we were.”
“I Went Calm. We just focussed on our job, not thinking much about anything else. We didn’t panic, that was very good from our side,” Sharma added.

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid shared his experience of working with captain Rohit Sharma after their T20 World Cup 2024 victory.
He expressed that he loved collaborating with Rohit and appreciated getting to know him better as a person. Here’s what he said as the now ex India Head Coach Rahul Dravid praises Rohit Sharma:
“I have really enjoyed working with Rohit. He is someone I knew as a young boy. Just to see him grow as a person, grow as a leader in Indian cricket. He is someone who is able to contribute to the team in the last 10-12 years, both as a player and now as a leader. It has been a real tribute to him and the effort he has put in the time he has put in. I really enjoy getting to know him as a person as well,” Dravid said in a video posted by BCCI.
Rohit and Dravid share a special bond, with Rohit’s wife also referring to Dravid as his “work wife”. On Dravid’s exit from the India squad, Rohit Sharma penned an emotional note, sharing how Rahul was family to them.
