The Indian cricket team is now in Sri Lanka for India’s tour of Sri Lanka series. The series has 3 T20I matches and 3 ODI matches. The match was played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. POTM and Captain Suryakumar Yadav says this as India defeats Sri Lanka in first T20I match from India’s Tour Of Sri Lanka 2024.
In the match, Sri Lanka won the toss, opting to bowl first. Team India has just returned after winning the tour of Zimbabwe 4-1 with a young team. The men in blue have also recently won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. This is the first time Suryakumar Yadav is leading team India under Head Coach Gautam Gambhir’s mentorship.
India scored 213/7 runs in the first innings. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was the highest scorer for the men in blue. He hit 58 runs in 26 balls, with a strike rate of 223.08. Another top player for the same team was rookie player Riyan Parag. In his bowling of 1.2 overs, Parag took 3 wickets leading team India to a victory. Parag also gave away only 5 runs, maintaining an economy rate of 3.8.

Addressing the audience at the post match ceremony, SKY mentioned how fortunate team India is that there was no dew when they bowled. He also praised the team for playing well.
“They were playing a good brand of cricket from ball one. They were keeping the tempo, credit goes to them. We know how the wicket plays in the night. We were fortunate that there was no dew.” SKY said.
“The way we played in the World Cup, that reminded us that the game was still too far. (Left-right combination to be persisted?) Whatever works for the team, we’ll take the call.” He added.
