He took a year off to prepare for the IIT entrance exams. His dedication and hard work paid off, as he successfully gained admission to IIT Mandi in 2013. This achievement marked a significant turning point in his life.
Passion for Badminton Grew Up:
While at university, Nitesh Kumar developed a keen interest in badminton, which soon became his passion. His para-badminton career began in 2016 when he joined the Haryana team for the Para National Championships. Nitesh made a notable debut by winning a bronze medal. The following year, he earned silver in singles and bronze in doubles at the national championships.
In 2017, he won his first international title at the Irish Para-Badminton International. His success continued with multiple titles and medals at various international events, including the Asian Para Games and the BWF Para-Badminton World Circuit. His standout achievement came in 2020 when he defeated Tokyo Paralympic medalists Pramod and Manoj to win the gold medal at the National Championship.
