While opening the innings for the South Delhi side, opener Priyansh Arya scored an incredible century and played a knock of 120 runs in just 50 deliveries. He smashed 10 boundaries and 10 over boundaries. 

Priyansh’s innings became extraordinary as he achieved a notable milestone. In the 12th over of South Delhi’s innings, he faced left-arm spinner Manan Bharadwaj and hit six consecutive sixes.

Who is This Sensational Batter?

Born in January 2001, Priyansh Arya has made a mark in Delhi cricket with his enormous talent. He has played five List A matches and nine T20s for Delhi, opening in all of them. In these nine T20s, he has scored two half-centuries. Against Tamilnadu, he scored 81 runs, and against Karnataka, he scored 51 runs. His overall T20 average for Delhi is 27.6, with a strike rate of 155. He featured in two T20s for Delhi during the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and seven matches the following year, where he gained recognition as a top-order power hitter.

Arya has also played for India A U-19 in a quadrangular tournament. The teams involved were South Africa U-19, Afghanistan U-19, and Indian B U-19. In three innings, he scored 57 runs, with his highest score being 44 against Afghanistan U-19.

Arya has had a stellar season, amassing 576 runs in just eight innings. He leads the run-scoring charts in the tournament, with Ayush Badoni trailing closely with 515 runs. Arya entered this match with impressive scores of 107*, 88, and 24. His unbeaten 107 against Purani Dilli was the first century of the tournament.

Priyansh achieved a remarkable feat by hitting six sixes in an over, becoming only the third Indian cricketer to do so. Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh are the only other Indians to have achieved this milestone.
