Why Kedar Jadhav preferred over Manish Pandey? Twitter asks

The first ODI between New Zealand and India saw Kedar Jadhav making to the playing eleven which irritated the fans. Twitter started criticising Kohli’s decision of including Kedar in the fixture while Manish Pandey failed to make the cut.

Kedar Jadhav vs Manish Pandey

Kedar Jadav, the all-rounder has not been used much after the ICC 2019 World Cup as a bowler. His batting stats have not been that impressive as well. While the management continuously talks about focusing on future and young players, the 34-year-old Jadhav gets preference over Pandey and Shivam Dubey.

The case was not any different in the first ODI in Hamilton against New Zealand. Pandey missed the bus despite his good show in the T20I series. Kedar Jadhav had scored 40, 16*, and 9 in his last three appearances for India and had bowled only on one occasion to end with the figures of 0/11. The domestic scene has not been good enough too. On the other hand, Pandey remained unbeaten in all five T20I matches in the recently concluding series and hit a 50* too. He was a saviour for India in the 4th T20I. Still, Kedar was preferred and the fans failed to understand the captain’s call.

Twitter reactions

No wonder the Indian cricket fans on twitter started sharing their reaction on the inclusion of Kedar Jadhav. Some argued in favour of Pandey and wrote, “India has dropped Manish Pandey yet again and nobody is going to talk about him or get to see him for years again I guess. I don’t see why he’s dropped? Why does he get ignored despite performing well? #NZvIND”

On the other hand, after Kedar Jadhav’s stint of 26* off 15 some of his fans came out in his support too. Virat Kohli did not use Kedar Jadhav for bowling today again and this was a major question asked by the fans on social media.
