The IPL dates have been confirmed on Friday by the IPL General Council chairman. Now all eyes on overseas players whether the respective boards would give NOC to release the players for IPL 2020.
NZC already gave NOC
On Friday Brijesh Patel, IPL General Council chairman mentioned that the IPL 2020 will take place between September 19 and November 8 in UAE. A formal announcement is still due albeit. So now the franchises are waiting for their overseas players and their confirmation to come for the league. New Zealand Cricket meanwhile agreed to give NOC to their six players to take part in IPL 2020. However, according to the NZC spokesperson the New Zealand cricket board will not be responsible for the due diligence of the cricketers.

Kane Williamson (SunRisers Hyderabad), Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians), Jimmy Neesham (Kings XI Punjab), Mitchell Santner (Chennai Super Kings), Mitchell McClenaghan (Mumbai Indians), and Lockie Ferguson (Kolkata Knight Riders) are the New Zealand players who are set to play IPL 2020. Apart from them, a few high-profile names from New Zealand Cricket are also associated with different IPL franchises as part of their support team.

Eyes on Cricket Australia
Cricket Australia official said to ANI, “Should the tournament be confirmed, Cricket Australia would then make its considerations accordingly.” There are 14 players from Down Under who have IPL contracts. Aaron Finch, Josh Philippe, Kane Richardson (All Royal Challengers Bangalore), Chris Lynn, Nathan Coulter-Nile (Both Mumbai Indians), Josh Hazelwood, Shane Watson (Both Chennai Super Kings), Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis (Both Delhi Capitals), Glenn Maxwell (Kings XI Punjab), Pat Cummins, Chris Green (Both Kolkata Knight Riders) and, Steve Smith, Andrew Tye (Both Rajasthan Royals) are the famous Aussie names set to get featured in IPL 2020.

So now the franchises with Aussies on board are waiting for IPL Government Council to make a formal announcement after the meeting. Only after that, an official nod can be expected from Cricket Australia as per the source’s quote mentioned above.
