Women’s Premier League 2024 Orange Cap: Updated After Gujarat Giants vs. Mumbai Indians Match No. 16

 Another day, and another brilliant day for Mumbai Indians. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. showcased an amazing game on the field. As the playoff stage is coming close, all the teams are giving their best. The match between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians showcased some amazing batting performance by the batter of both teams which showcased the competition for the orange cap. 

In the 16th game of WPL, Gujarat Giants won the toss and decided to bat first. After losing the first wicket early, Beth Mooney and Dayalan Hemalatha made a responsible partnership. Mooney scored 66 runs in  35 balls with a strike rate of 188.57. Hemalatha scored 74 runs in 40 balls with a strike rate of 185.00. In 20 overs, they scored 190/7.

While chasing the target, Yastika Bhatia missed a well-deserved half-century. She was dismissed on 49 runs in 36 balls. After that, Hayley Matthews scored 18 runs in 21 balls.  Natalie Sciver-Brunt walked away after scoring 2 runs. 

After those quick dismissals, MI was 98/3. From that situation, MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur carried the team. On that crucial point, she played a match-winning knock of 95 runs in just 48 balls. Her innings was contained with 10 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries with a strike rate of 197.92. They won the match by 7 wickets.
