“wondering if this is now a permanent thing now”: Perry asks fans after playing Holi

The WPL 2023 global cricket stars who are competing for various franchises are having a good time in India during Holi. Local cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh were seen playing with the colors with RCB players Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, and Heather Knight. In the middle of this, Ellyse Perry tweets a photo of herself inquiring if the Holi color is everlasting. The Australian celebrity said that despite repeatedly washing her hair, the color is still present. Fans found the post extremely relatable and made it viral in no time.

The Mumbai Indians ran riot in the Brabourne Stadium, claiming a 9-wicket victory as they knocked down the 156-run goal in only 14.2 overs, despite the best efforts of the RCB Women.

Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the RCB, chose to bat first after winning the toss on a surface that appeared to be quite favorable for hitters. The side got off to a strong start thanks to Mandhana and fellow starter Sophie Devine, and the boundaries started to come quickly. However, RCB’s heyday was short-lived as the team lost the wickets of Devine (16), Mandhana (23), Disha Kasat (0), and Heather Knight (0) during the powerplay.

Ellyse Perry was pushed back by a hard hit for 13 just when it appeared like she and Richa Ghosh were working together. Southpaw Kanika Ahuja joined Ghosh in the middle, and their partnership of 34 runs for the sixth wicket enabled RCB to surpass the 100-run mark. Following the dismissals of Ghosh (28) and Ahuja (22) the experienced Megan Schutt (20) and the newcomer Shreyanka Patil (23) put up a 34-run stand that helped RCB finally score 155.

Preeti Bose, a left-arm spinner, was the only bowler to record a wicket on the day, dismissing Bhatia for 23. While Matthews (77*) and Nat-Sciver Brunt (55*) piled 114 runs for the second wicket and provided little relief for the bowlers, that was the only time that RCB experienced success with their bowling.
