India‘s young cricket talents, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, have made impressive strides in the ICC T20I rankings after their standout performances in the T20I series against Zimbabwe. Jaiswal has climbed to the 6th position, now with 743 points, closely trailing Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. Gill made a significant leap, moving up 36 spots to reach the 37th position, surpassing seasoned players like Rohit Sharma (42nd) and recently retired Virat Kohli (51st).
Gill’s elevation makes him the fourth-highest-ranked Indian T20I player, following Suryakumar Yadav (2nd), Jaiswal (6th), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (8th).
Key Performances in Zimbabwe Series
Both Jaiswal and Gill capitalized on their opportunities, with Gill emerging as the series’ top run-scorer. He accumulated 170 runs across five matches, maintaining a strike rate of 125.93 and an average of 42.50. Jaiswal, who joined the series after missing the first two T20Is, made a sensational impact with an unbeaten 93-run innings in the fourth T20I. He totaled 141 runs in three matches, averaging 70.50 with an impressive strike rate of 165.88. Their performances were crucial in India securing a 4-1 series victory over Zimbabwe.

On the bowling front, Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani moved up 11 places to 44th in the T20I rankings. Indian bowlers also saw improvements, with Washington Sundar rising 36 spots to 46th and Mukesh Kumar climbing 21 places to 73rd. England‘s Adil Rashid maintained his position as the top-ranked T20I bowler, while Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza advanced to third in the all-rounder rankings following his contributions with both bat and ball against India.
