He has become the first player to score 1000 runs across all formats in 2024.

Before stepping into this game, he was just seven runs away from the record. While batting in the second innings, he achieved the milestone in the first over. In the fourth delivery, he smashed a boundary against Shanaka. With that, he touched the milestone.
Team India Shines Again:
After a 43-run win in the last match, Team India walked into the confidence. After winning the toss, they opted to bowl first. While bowling first, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Kusal Mendis in just 10 runs. Nissanka was dismissed on 32 runs. Kusal Perera scored another half-century but Hardik Pandya dismissed him and sealed a crucial wickets. Ravi Bishnoi was outstanding. He secured 3 wickets in 26 runs. Those efforts restricted Sri Lanka to 161 runs.
While batting in the second innings, rain interrupted the game. The overs cut to 8 and the target was 78. While opening in the innings, India faced an early setback as Sanju Samson was dismissed on a duck. But Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav maintained a good partnership. Jaiswal scored 30 runs in just 15 balls. Suryakumar added 26 runs. Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten till the end. Team India triumphed with the 7-wicket win and sealed the series.
