But this year, his new teammate has outclassed him. Sam Curran was the brightest debutant of 2018. He was one of the premier reasons for England’s win over India.
The young man played his first Test against India at Edgbaston and immediately made a mark. He performed both with bat and ball and won the Man of the Match. In the end, he was also adjudged the Man of the Series. The left-hander showcased his all-round skills throughout the series. At the end of 2018, Curran has 404 runs to his name with 3 fifties and an average of 36.72. Also, he took 14 wickets with 74/4 being his best performance in an innings.
