“You need to be careful..”: Ravi Shastri fires massive warning to Virat Kohli

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is garnering attention for both his batting and some of the notorious events that took place in IPL 2023. First off, the 34-year-old gave former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly death stares throughout the game against Delhi Capitals.

Ganguly is reported to have had a hand in Kohli’s dismissal as the Indian team’s ODI skipper. The issue wasn’t entirely over because after the game neither of them shook the other’s hand. The incident got worse when the players stopped following each other on Instagram. Not only that, but Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir engaged in verbal sparring during Lucknow’s match against Bangalore in Lucknow on 1st May.

When discussing all the events, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that Kohli should exercise caution because players are frequently caught on camera after games. The renowned cricketers MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, who never got involved in any such events after a match, were also used as examples by the speaker.

Ravi Shastri said

“After the sequence of events last week, someone like a Virat Kohli, someone like a Dhoni…Dhoni knows, he’s a pro, that there is a camera on you and that is because you guys deserve it after what you guys contributed to the game.

“There will a camera on you, like there was on Sachin Tendulkar. Remember once the game is over, the camera is on you all the time until you get into that dressing room. You need to be careful, it’s like you are flagged off. If you have that in your mindset…camera, and once the game is over, you will be fine. You can get a lot of brownie points using that camera,” Shastri said while talking to ESPNcricinfo.

The 34-year-old has received multiple fines throughout the current campaign, including the 100% match fee reduction in the match versus LSG.
