The duo will likely serve as net bowlers and train with the senior Indian squad during the preparation phase.
Yudhvir Singh Charak’s Call-Up
Yudhvir, known for his ability to clock over 140 kmph and hit big sixes in the lower order, played three games for LSG in IPL 2023, taking three wickets. However, his appearances were limited in the 2024 season, where he picked up just one wicket in two matches. Having spent time under India head coach Gautam Gambhir at LSG, this experience might have contributed to his call-up. A source close to Yudhvir called it a “stepping stone” toward a potential spot in the national team.
Himanshu Singh Impresses Selectors
Himanshu Singh, a young spinner from Mumbai, is yet to debut for the senior team but has made a strong impression in age-group cricket. His progress has been tracked by India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar, who has been impressed with the spinner’s development. Himanshu, standing at six foot four inches, has a bowling action similar to Ravichandran Ashwin, further raising expectations of his potential impact.
