A Glorious Beginning to Yuvraj Singh’s Career
In 2000, Yuvraj Singh played a key role in leading the Indian team to victory in the ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup held in Sri Lanka. Under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj’s exceptional performances earned him the Player of the Series award. His contributions helped India finish on top and marked the start of a stellar international career.
After this triumph, Yuvraj made his international debut on October 3, 2000, during an ODI match against Kenya in Nairobi. Over his 17-year career, he played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for India.
Yuvraj Singh’s Major Achievements
Yuvraj’s cricketing journey is filled with milestones. He was crucial in India’s victory at the inaugural ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007 under MS Dhoni‘s leadership. Recently, reports have surfaced suggesting that Yuvraj Singh may take on a new role as head coach of the Delhi Capitals. The franchise is currently seeking a new head coach after parting ways with Ricky Ponting. Under Ponting’s leadership since 2018, DC struggled to qualify for IPL playoffs in recent seasons.
Consequently, Ponting has transitioned to coach Punjab Kings, leaving an opportunity for Yuvraj to step into a leadership position within Delhi Capitals.
