Aakash Chopra Critiques Australia’s Lachluster Show Against Sri Lanka: “ Did the Aussies Show Up on the Field?”

The World Cup is going on with all its flavor. The tournament has been showing its glory since the start. All teams are trying hard to do their best. They are giving their best to achieve the ultimate goal. But Australia needed help in their first two matches. They lost their first two matches back-to-back. That was a setback for them. Australia is one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Finally, they registered their first win against Sri Lanka. But the former Indian player talked about their win.

Aakash Chopra’s Words on Australia’s Win:

Australia is one of the strongest teams in this tournament. They are the five-time winner of the World Cup. But they had a disappointing start to the tournament. They lost two consecutive matches in the tournament. That was not expected from a team like Australia. Finally, they secured their first win against Sri Lanka.

Aakash Chopra talked about their performance against Sri Lanka. He said, “ It doesn’t seem like Australia has come. On a sad and disappointing note, even after they won, it felt like whether Sri Lanka came to bat, it didn’t seem like a wicket would fall.”

Further, he added, “ They look a DRS on the first ball itself. You took a DRS for LBW but it seemed like it was a ‘bat before the wicket’ because the ball hit straight on the bat. A little desperation was seen and in the same over he gave a warning for a run-out at the non-striker’s end. He could have might as well done it.”
