In the year 1965, Sri Lanka became the associate member of ICC. Team Sri Lanka played its first ODI in the year 1975, against West Indies. Sri Lanka became the full member of ICC in the year 1981. After playing the first test in the year 1982 Sri Lanka became the 8th nation who play test cricket. Sri Lanka team played its first test against England.
