Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently representing Leicestershire in the County Championship Division Two, was recently seen enjoying some downtime in England. The 36-year-old cricketer shared glimpses of his leisure activities on Instagram, which included attending an Arsenal football match alongside Indian actor Aparshakti Khurana. This appearance marks a rare sight of Rahane off the cricket field, enjoying his time in London amidst his busy cricketing schedule.
Rahane’s London Sojourn
Ajinkya Rahane, who has been in good form for Leicestershire, took a break from his cricketing commitments to explore the city of London.
The cricketer shared a series of posts on Instagram, capturing moments from his time at the beach, strolling through the streets of London, and watching an Arsenal game.
The snapshots also featured Aparshakti Khurana, a popular Indian actor, who joined Rahane for the football match. Rahane captioned one of his posts, “Soaking in the serenity,” reflecting his relaxed state of mind.
Rahane’s time in England has been a blend of professional commitments and personal leisure, providing him with a balanced experience.
His stint with Leicestershire has seen him in fine form, as he recently scored 378 runs in 10 innings during the One-Day Cup, helping his team secure a second-place finish in Group B of the tournament.
Rahane’s Cricketing Commitments
While Rahane is enjoying his time off the field, his performances on the field have been noteworthy.
In his latest appearance for Leicestershire, Rahane played a key role in the match against Glamorgan in Cardiff, scoring 42 and 102 in two innings, respectively.
Despite his efforts, the match ended in a draw. Rahane has been a significant contributor to Leicestershire’s campaign in the County Championship, bringing his wealth of experience to the team.
Although Rahane has not played for India since July 2023, when he featured in a Test match against the West Indies, he remains focused on his cricketing goals.
Glenn Maxwell Comments on the India-Australia Intense Rivalry
The Mumbai-born cricketer has expressed his desire to play 100 Test matches for India, a goal that seems challenging given the current competition in the Indian middle order.
However, Rahane’s experience and leadership skills, highlighted by his successful captaincy during India‘s 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy win in Australia, keep him in the conversation for a potential comeback.
