The story
In absence of Virat Kohli, the regular captain of the Indian cricket team, Ajinkya Rahane led the team brilliantly. From 36 all out in the first Test match, the team made a strong come back and went on to win the series 2-1. The heroics of multiple players at different point of the entire series helped India did the unimaginable. The fans here in India no wonder was waiting for the team to come back and gave a grand welcome.
Ajinkya Rahane arrived in Mumbai from Australia with four other members of team India. He could be seen holding his daughter in a video as fans showered flowers on the stand-in Test captain. A viral video revealed the mood of crazy fans while receiving Rahane.

Rahane leads from the front
Virat Kohli came back home on paternity leave after the first Test match. Rahane led Team India after that for the entire series and his first work was to lift the mood of the visiting side. The outcome saw the team that had scored 36 runs in the second innings in the first match, went on to draw win the next one in Melbourne followed by a draw in Sydney and finally a dramatic win in Brisbane.
The Mumbai-born led from the front in the second Test match in Melbourne and scored a fine century. When the captain leads from the front, it becomes motivational for the team. And that’s what happened for India in Australia. Even in the fourth Test, Rahane scored a quick-fire 24 off 22 balls to set the tone for India’s thrilling run chase on day 5 at the Gabba, Brisbane. No wonder the man has been receiving so much praise for his captaincy.
