This tournament gave them a chance to perform alongside some of the biggest names in the game. GT20 Canada has always been a great platform for both Canadian and Associate players to show their skills on a prominent stage.

Players Excel In GT20

The Global T20 Canada is a professional Twenty20 cricket tournament held in Canada. The first tournament was played in June and July 2018 with six teams, each including four local Canadian players and several international stars.

The initial games were held at Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario. Subsequent tournaments in 2019, 2023, and 2024 took place at Brampton Sports Park near the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. 

The league is owned and organised by Bombay Sports Limited, which also manages the Euro T20 Slam

In the fourth edition of GT20 Canada, Associate nation cricketers impressed with standout performances. This league has been a great platform for them to showcase their talents alongside global stars.

Scotland’s George Munsey topped the run charts, scoring 218 runs with a strike rate of 135.40, including two fifties. Canada’s Dilpreet Bajwa was the second-highest run-scorer with 206 runs at a strike rate of 145.07. He also hit the season’s only century.

In bowling, UAE’s Junaid Siddique was the second-highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets, while Romario Shepherd led with 15. Bajwa’s Montreal Tigers teammate, Kaleem Sana, took nine wickets, including a hat-trick.

These performances have raised the league’s profile, and these players will continue to impress in future matches.
