The World Championship of Legends has finally concluded. The championship was held in England. The tournament is great to watch as it brings back some of the star players who have now retired from their respective teams. India and Pakistan battled for the trophy in the final match for the competition. Suresh Raina expresses gratefulness over victory in the WCL finals.

The match was played at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. The Pakistan Champions team won the toss and opted to bat first. Pakistan scored 156/6 in 20 overs, while India Champions successfully chased the runs. India scored 159/5 in 19.1 overs and defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets.

Indian veteran ex-cricketer Suresh Raina was a part of the India Champions team. The team also boasted of other big names like Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan.

Speaking about the victory during the post match celebrations, Raina recalled how Edgbaston was the same stadium where his side won the 2013 Champions Trophy against England in the finals. He also expressed gratefulness to God over the victories.

The Champions Trophy 2013 was India’s last ICC trophy for 11 years, until they broke the curse with winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The India men won the WT20C finals against South Africa in the West Indies.

Suresh Raina said “We won the Champions Trophy here, now we won the WCL as well – God has been kind”.
