In this crucial match, Afghan bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi touched a new milestone. He equals Wanindu Hasaranga’s record of taking the most wickets in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, Hasaranga secured 16 scalps. Fazalhaq Farooqi also secured 16 wickets in this edition of the World Cup.  Arshdeep Singh is standing on the second position with 15 scalps. 

In the second over, Farooqi dismissed Tanzid Hasan on an LBW and registered his 16th wicket in this edition of the T20 World Cup. In this season, Farooqi has been amazing. He has dominated the tournament. He registered his only fifer against Uganda this season. He is also just three wickets away from his 100 scalps. He is a big asset to Afghanistan.

In the last match of the Super Eight stage, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are locking horns. The winner will be qualified for the semifinals. In this match, Afghanistan batted first. After giving a decent start, Ibrahim Zadran was dismissed on 18 runs. Gurbaz missed his half-century and was dismissed on 43 runs in 55 balls. After that, the Afghan batters struggled along with terrible rain interruption. They scored 115 runs in 5 balls. 

Chasing the target was not a difficult task but the Afghan bowlers thrived over the Bangladeshi batters. Fazalhaq Faroqi dismissed Tanzid Hasan on a duck. Rashid Khan was amazing securing 4 wickets in 8 runs. Naveen ul Haq secured 2 wickets in 23 runs. Bangladesh is in a crucial position. They are 85-7 in the 13th over.
