Former Chief Selector Praises BCCI Decision to Mandate Domestic Cricket

The senior Indian cricket players competing in the renowned Duleep Trophy, a competition that has been a part of the Indian domestic calendar since 1961–1962, have received a lot of attention from the Board of Central Cricket of India (BCCI). On September 5, the competition is scheduled to start in M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Chetan Sharma’s statement on BCCI decision

“I think the BCCI made a terrific choice. It is our duty to play cricket, and we shouldn’t say no to playing anyplace. It’s also excellent that we can play competitively. We will have India’s top 50–60 players in one location thanks to BCCI’s excellent decision to organize all Duleep Trophy matches at one location, Chetan Sharma told IANS.

Chetan continued by saying that India should strive for resounding wins over Bangladesh because there are no easy games. “Playing cricket internationally is never easy, no matter who you play against; you have to be serious at all times. India will not be prepared in the same way for Australia and Bangladesh. Additionally, the World Test Championship is now underway, so we must ensure that we defeat Bangladesh with decisive victories, he continued.
