Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya‘s step brother, Vaibhav Pandya, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly cheating them of around Rs 4.3 crore. The arrest comes after Hardik filed a complaint against the 37-year-old Vaibhav.
The incident revolves around a business partnership formed in 2021 among Hardik, Krunal, and Vaibhav. According to the agreement, the two cricketers were entitled to 40 percent each of the profits, while Vaibhav was to receive 20 percent. However, Vaibhav allegedly diverted funds from the partnership firm into a separate company without sharing the profits with Hardik and Krunal.
Officials from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police have charged Vaibhav with cheating and forgery. The arrest highlights a troubling situation within the Pandya family, where trust and business dealings have led to legal action.
