Here’s What Player of the Match Quinton de Kock Has To Say After Smashing a Spectacular 174-Run Century Against Bangladesh

In a powerful display of their batting prowess, South Africa amassed a mammoth total of 382 runs against Bangladesh, its highest score for the eighth time in World Cup history. Having played the match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the Proteas reckoned on its exceptional performance and registered their fourth victory in the ongoing tournament. Earlier also, South Africa set massive targets against Sri Lanka and England crossing the mark of 400+ runs.

South African cricketer Quinton de Kock is surely the key to South Africa’s unbelievable scores in the tournament as the batsman scored his third century in the 2023 World Cup alone becoming the leading run-getter since this edition of the World Cup began.

He has continuously posted staggering knocks for the Proteas against the opponent teams leading the team forward into the tournament.

De Kock as the Player of the Match

After having amassed an unbelievable 174-run century off 140 deliveries against Shakib Al Hasan and Co. , there is no doubt that de Kock was certainly regarded as the Player of the Match who risked his chance to score a double hundred in this World Cup. The 174 runs he scored included 15 boundaries and 7 sixes in total at a strike rate 124.29.

Post-match statement

Ahead of another spectacular win for the Proteas, the 30-year old batsman during the post match presentation remarked that “To be honest, I am a bit more tired than satisfied (after a spectacular knock), I think we all played really well and everyone did their part and it was nice to get those two points on the board. Not just too sure, it is just happening I guess (speaking about his conversion rate in India). I was a little nervous this morning, but it was a great day and I had a bit of fun and it’s great to get another 2 points. He (Klaasen) has been truly amazing, I also need some of the juice that he is having. He has just been special, not just for us but for everyone around the world. He is really taking it by storm and I am very happy for him.”

After a short gap of time, South Africa is all set to face Pakistan on October 27. Pakistan, who played their last game yesterday, against Afghanistan is almost out of the World Cup having registered three consecutive defeats while it will be interesting to witness if Babar’s men can defeat the Proteas on the scheduled match day at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
