“I was lucky enough to represent RCB.” KL Rahul Opens Up About Heartfelt Journey with RCB

In Indian cricket, KL Rahul is a true asset to the team. His exceptional wicketkeeping technique along with his responsible batting approach makes him different from others. A young batter from Karnataka came and became an unattached part of the Indian team. Throughout his career, Injuries troubled him a lot. During an IPL match in 2023, he sustained an injury. Due to that injury, he was out of cricket for a long time. As the IPL is coming, he is ready to lead Lucknow Super Giants. Recently, in an interview, he talked about his RCB days. 

KL Rahul and RCB:

Being a Karnataka batter, he dreamt of playing for RCB. Rahul made his IPl debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played for the franchise from 2013 to 2016. In those years, he made 417 runs for the franchise. After being released by the franchise, he played for Punjab Kings and now he is leading the side of Lucknow Super Giants. Rahul registered his highest IPL score of 132* against Royal Challengers Bangalore. 

Recently, he opened up about playing for RCB. He said, “I was lucky enough to represent RCB. They gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent when I was young. I’m from Bengaluru so I always dreamt of playing for them. RCB is very close to my heart.” That was some emotional words from the LSG skipper.

Skipper Rahul in the ODI Series Against SA:

After the end of the World Cup, Team India traveled to South Africa for a long tour. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others took a rest from the white-ball format. In the absence of the seniors, KL Rahul was appointed as the captain of the team in ODI format. Captaincy was not new to him and he led the team from the front.

In the first ODI, India played exceptionally well. Indian bowlers performed outstandingly in the match. While batting first, South Africa got all out in 116 runs. India won the match by 8 wickets. In the second match, India faced hard luck. India lost the match by 8 wickets. KL Rahul played a responsible innings of 56 runs in 64 balls. In the third match, Team India bounced back. They won the match by 78 runs and won the series by a 2-1 margin. With this win, KL Rahul becomes only second Indian captain to win an ODI series against South Africa in South Africa after Virat Kohli.
