Powerful knocks by Aussies and the Kiwis
The Aussies amassed a massive total of 388 runs putting New Zealand in pressure which they seemingly handled well but couldn’t manage to chase the needed target and got defeated by 5 mere runs. While this is New Zealand’s second defeat after they lost to India, Australia registered their 3rd consecutive victory of the tournament. Australian batsman Travis Head smashed a fine 109-run century, followed by opener David Warner at 81 runs who took the target by storm. Despite the loss, New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra scored his second hundred of the tournament with Daryl Mitchell putting up a formidable score of 54.
David Warner yet again is leading at the 2nd position having amassed a total of 413 runs in the ongoing tournament followed by New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra who after having hit the second ton of the tournament is leading at the 3rd position. At the 7th position comes Daryl Mitchell whose total run-streak stands at 322 runs.
Going towards BAN vs NED
Team Netherlands registered their second win of the tournament while taking everyone by surprise having delivered a target of 230 to Bangladesh. The Bengal Tigers were unfortunate today as they kept losing wickets and were restricted to just 142 runs with 7.4 overs to spare. Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards smashed 68 for the team followed by Wesley Barresi at 41 runs, while for Bangladesh, none of the players could score above 35 runs as they kept losing wickets.
With the conclusion of these matches, tomorrow India will be taking on South Africa at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow.
