Amidst the echoes of friendliness, excitement grows for the upcoming APL-Appollo Wheelchair Cricket T20 Trophy, as both the Sri Lankan and Indian captains hold a joint news conference, laying the groundwork for an extraordinary display of sportsmanship and competition.

The Wheelchair Cricket T20 Trophy is scheduled to run from June 11 to June 16, 2024, at the famous Shahid Vijay Pathik Cricket Complex in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

During the press briefing, Sri Lankan Coach Mungula and Captain Thusitha Mahinda praised the extraordinary facilities provided to wheelchair cricketers in India, emphasizing the flawless integration of tradition and modernity. 

 “This is the best ever arrangement I have seen among all countries. It is very heartening to see how India is taking disability cricket forward and setting new benchmarks.” Mahindra said.

Responding to Mahindra’s remark about India’s arrangements, the Indian wheelchair team’s captain Somjeet

He stated, “Our team has been diligently preparing in all aspects of the game, including mental fitness. We are confident in our abilities and look forward to entertaining the spectators with our cricket.”

The president of the wheelchair cricket association of India, Abhai Pratap Singh invited the Indian audience to turn spectators for the event that would undoubtedly play an important role in promoting disability cricket in India.

 “Unless people see it, they won’t be able to understand the fun of it. I invite everyone to come and witness the matches being played on an international ground.” Singh stated.
