The Wankhede Stadium will host a Test for the first time in nearly three years when India takes on New Zealand in October-November of this year, according to TOI. New Zealand is slated to play three Tests in India later this year.
Coincidence being “Test”ed
In a coincidental fashion, the last test match at Wankhede was also a face off between India and New Zealand back in December 2021.
India won the match by a record 372 runs and demolished the visitors. just 62 in the first innings, but the match will always be remembered when Kiwi left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel became the third bowler behind Jim Laker. Anil Kumble took all ten wickets in the innings as he took 119 for 10 in 47.5 overs during India’s first innings.
