Indian Cricket Teams Announced for Australia Tour

Indian cricket team for the Australia tour has been announced by the BCCI on Monday. The Indian cricket board announced three squads for three series in Australia. Virat Kohli will be leading all sides whereas KL Rahul will be his deputy in the limited-over games, Ajinkya Rahane will be his vice-captain for the Test team. Rohit Sharma will not be part of the Australia tour along with Ishant Sharma due to injury.

Sharmas to miss the tour

The Indian cricket team is all set to travel to Australia just after the Indian Premier League. They will be playing a T20I series followed by ODI and Test. Today BCCI announced the squad for India’s tour to Down Under. Reportedly, the selection committee met on a video-call and selected the sides for the upcoming tour. A release published on BCCI’s official website read, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee met via video-conference on Monday to select the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming Tour of Australia. Team India will take part in three T20Is, three ODIs and four Test matches against Australia.”

The dates and schedule for the tour are yet to be officially confirmed by Cricket Australia and BCCI. Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma will miss the tour due to injury. The release further added, “The BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor the progress of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma.”
