Indian Former Cricketer Wasim Jaffer Takes a Dig at England Cricket Team Through a Witty Social Media Post!

India is the only team which is sitting comfortably at the top-most position in the ICC Rankings Table after having won all the six matches they have played till now since the commencement of the tournament. While England is the only team which finishes last on the table, having lost a total out of six matches they have played till now. England and India faced each other yesterday at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow with India registering a 100-run victory over England.

With England having won the toss, they opted to field first with India delivering a target of 230 runs. England was restricted to a paltry score 129 in just 34.5 overs. All hail to Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav who smashed brilliant knocks while Mohammad Shami who delivered a magical bowling spell taking a 4-wicket haul to dismantle England’s batting line-up. As the loss came heavily on England, several cricketers have been criticising the team for their poor performance. Recently, Indian former cricketer Wasim Jaffer also took to his social media handle to do the same.

Jaffer roasting the England team

Already famous for his witty social media posts, Wasim Jaffer took to his official Twitter handle to take a cheeky dig at the England Cricket team after they lost to India by a margin of 100 runs. He shared a clip where some kids were seen playing and throwing foam blocks at each other in a park station. He compared that scene with England’s situation saying that it’s England winning the European Cricket Championship by defeating the other countries in Europe. He captioned the video with “Exclusive footage of Eng winning the European Cricket Championship defeating the likes of Cyprus, Switzerland, Romania, and Malta.”

Before the witty post on Twitter

Prior to this Twitter post, Jaffer revived his relations with the former England skipper Michael Vaughan through another statement saying “Cheer up Michael Vaughan. I think England can still qualify…For Champions Trophy 2025 by finishing in top 7.” ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to held in Pakistan after two years i.e in 2025 in which top 7 teams after the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup will be qualifying for the coming tournament.
