Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field first in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai. After losing the toss, Eoin Morgan said, ” We would have liked to bowl first. I think everybody would be in the same boat. We did play a game the other night where 220 seemed to be enough. We are playing our second game at the Wankhede and we are better off knowing the conditions. The game that is played here suits our game and hopefully we can rectify them today. It was a great game of cricket. The character the guys showed to get to the position we were in at the end was absolutely outstanding, our middle and lower order coming good in the game against a really strong side.” He continued, “We have one change to our line-up, Shivam Mavi comes in for Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Just a change of gameplan and it is a match-up change. The record here traditionally is seam works better than spin, we are in a unique position of having two mystery spinners who can curb that trend a little bit. Lucky to have them.”
KKR’s last match was at the same venue against Chennai Super Kings. Morgan-led team gave a close fight at then and almost won the match. Shakib Al Hasan who had played first three matches for KKR in place of Sunil Narine, was not added to the combination last time out. Narine made a comeback. Shakib was bought in the action clearly as a back-up of Narine. Since Shakib Al Hasan has not been able to do anything extraordinary, the team management must have thought of trusting Narine once again for a few matches.
