When Rohit Sharma introduced Marco Jansen in the first match of IPL 2021 during the toss, he mentioned about the height of the South-African cricketer. He is 6’8” tall and just 20 years old. Jansen has not played international cricket yet but he has been around for quite a while now.

Born in Klerksdorp, South Africa, the bowling all-rounder has played 10 T20 matches so far and scored 71 runs with a strike rate of 124.56. His highest score across all formats of domestic cricket is 87. He also picked up six wickets in those 10 games at an economy rate of 7.80.He debuted for North West in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 8 April 2018 in List A match. His first class debut came in the same year for North West in the CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup on 11 October 2018. He has a twin brother, Duan who also plays cricket. He made his Twenty20 debut for Knights in the 2018–19 CSA T20 Challenge in 2019.
Macro Jansen was added to South Africa’s Test squad for their series against Pakistan in January 2021 before he was bought by Mumbai Indians in the mini-auction ahead of IPL 2021. Jansen made headlines when he troubled Virat Kohli during a net session in India’s 2018 tour of South Africa
