Mahendra Dhoni’s last IPL campaign was disappointing, as a batsman and skipper. This year he will be once again leading Chennai Super Kings with the hope to come back with a bang. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been part of Chennai Super Kings since 2008. Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises and Dhoni is the captain of the side from the inaugural season. As batsman and captain, Dhoni has been into this league for a long and part of few interesting records. MS Dhoni has played in 204 IPL matches, the most matches by a player. In the process he has scored 832 runs vs RCB which is the most by a player vs RCB is IPL. Dhoni has smashed 209 sixes in IPL so far, the most by an IND batsman and 3rd overall in IPL. MS Dhoni also got the most number of sixes in death overs (17-20) in IPL – 141.

Dhoni is the only skipper to have 100 IPL match wins. Dhoni led CSK for 85 consecutive matches from 6 April 2013 to 14 April 2019 which is the 2nd most consecutive match by a captain for a team in T20s. Gautam Gambhir is the second one with -107 matches.
Records to Be Made
Last year Dhoni’s comeback was a highlight for IPL 2020 as he was coming back to cricket for the first time after taking retirement from international cricket. It was a disaster for the veteran. As he is getting prepared for the upcoming one, there are few numbers his fans will be keeping in mind.
MS Dhoni needs two more dismissals to complete 150 wicketkeeping dismissals in IPL. Once he does that, he will be the first wicketkeeper to do so. If MS Dhoni scores 179 runs in the upcoming season he will complete 7000 T20 runs. a14 more sixes and MS Dhoni will complete 200 sixes playing for CSK in IPL.
