Hosts Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are all set to play at the historical Chepauk Stadium in Chennai for the 17th game of the Indian Premier League. Chennai’s Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, Rajasthan are entering this game without the services of their primary pacer, Trent Boult
A small niggle
In a recent update from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp, it has been announced that their star left-arm pacer, Trent Boult, will not be playing in their fourth encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Trent Boult has been a key player for Rajasthan so far in the tournament, having picked up five wickets from three games and currently sitting at the 11th spot in the Purple Cap race. However, the team has decided to rest Boult for the upcoming game due to a small niggle. The Rajasthan camp is taking a precautionary measure to ensure that Boult is fully fit for the next game.
The team has decided to go with just three overseas players in Boult’s experience. Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, and Jason Holder are the three overseas players playing today. Young pacer Kuldeep Sen has been drafted to the squad in the absence of Boult.
The news of Boult’s absence may come as a disappointment to Rajasthan fans, but they will be hoping that their star pacer will make a quick recovery and be back in action for the next game. The IPL 2023 season is still in its early stages, and with many more games to come, Rajasthan will need Boult to be at his best to help them make a strong push for the title. Despite Boult’s absence, Rajasthan will look to continue their winning streak and secure another victory against Chennai.
