IPL 2023 LSG vs CSK: Jonty Rhodes seen helping groundsmen in bringing covers on to the field

Before Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni stabilized things for the hosts, the spinners of Chennai Super Kings brought Lucknow Super Giants to their knees. On a pitch when others battled to reach double figures, Badoni miraculously switched gears and struck a half-century in only 31 balls. With four balls remaining, the inning was cut short by rain. Together, Badoni and Pooran scored 59 runs off 48 balls, with Badoni scoring 38 runs off 26 balls. However, in the first eight overs, LSG lost four wickets.

With heavy rain pouring down at the stadium in Lucknow, the fielding coach of the Lucknow team Jonty Rhodes was seen helping the groundsmen bring covers on the field. The rain is quite heavy at the moment and there is no sign of an immeadiate start in the match.

After Kyle Mayers was dismissed by Moeen Ali in the fourth over, Manan Vohra and Krunal Pandya—the LSG captain without KL Rahul—were taken out in quick succession by Maheesh Theekshana. Then, Marcus Stoinis was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja with a sensational ball. After two straight defeats, CSK will be hoping to avoid a hat-trick at this crucial point in the season.

KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), strained his hamstring during his team’s final IPL 2023 match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), a few days ago. Before pulling up, Rahul was rushing behind the ball to stop it from traveling towards the boundary. Rahul was in serious pain and walked off the field. After getting hurt in the game’s very first over, Rahul did not enter the field. He might be ruled out of the tournament and also may miss the WTC Final.
