IPL 2023: Star Aussie arrives at Delhi Capitals camp

Delhi Capitals have started gearing up for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Delhi will play their first game against KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants on April 1st. Ahead of their opening game, a star Australian has joined the team.

Who is it?

Australian opener David Warner has joined the Delhi camp earlier today. In a video captioned “Welcome skip”, the franchise’s official Twitter handle has announced the arrival of Warner in the camp. Warner is set to captain the franchise this year in the absence of their regular captain Rishabh Pant

The video posted by the franchise features David Warner addressing the fans and saying, “Delhi, Main Aa Gaya Hoon.” meaning, “Hey Delhi Fans, I have arrived.” Warner can be seen taking his training gear, meaning that he will begin preparing for the IPL in full form straight away. Lastly, Warner signed off the video, stating, “Training to Banti hai.”, meaning, “It is time to train.”

Warner was bought by Delhi last year and was one of their most successful batters last season, finishing at 432 runs from 12 games at an average of 48. Warner is one of the most senior players in the franchise and was the obvious choice for the team’s captain in Pant’s absence.

Warner does the Pushpa gesture

Warner announced his arrival at the Delhi Capitals camp in the Pushpa Jhukega Nahi style. The trend became popular after the 2021 Allu Arjun starring Pushpa: The Rise was released. The trend spread over all of the social media with multiple influencers joining in.
