Excitement builds as Major League Cricket (MLC) prepares for its highly anticipated inaugural season in the United States. The league has announced Dallas, Texas, and Morrisville, North Carolina, as the chosen venues for the tournament, set to captivate cricket fans from July 13 to 30.
A 6-team tournament
The stage is set for an exhilarating showdown as six teams gear up to showcase their cricketing prowess. Among them, four teams have strong ties to the renowned Indian Premier League (IPL), adding an extra layer of intrigue. The participating IPL franchises include the Texas Super Kings (formerly Chennai Super Kings), MI New York (formerly Mumbai Indians), Los Angeles Knight Riders (formerly Kolkata Knight Riders), and Seattle Orcas (formerly Delhi Capitals). The league also introduces two new teams, the Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorns, both backed by Indian stakeholders.
To ensure an authentic cricketing experience, matches will be held at two dedicated cricket-specific venues. The action kicks off at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, where the league will run from July 13 to 18. It then moves to Church Street Park in Morrisville for the next phase. Finally, the league returns to Dallas for the playoffs and the highly anticipated final, scheduled from July 27 to 30.
